I have been thinking about this since I started taking photos recently...
Which is more appealing?
Patterns or colors?
Of course the answer for me would be both, since I have a fondness for everything... but in general, I'm rather curious.
Back in the day, when I first started, the big thing was Pastels. That, of course, was color...
And then, it became all about Spiders... And that would be pattern.
And then it was all about the Bumblebees.
i.e. both!
So let us review some of the base morphs and where I categorize them:
Colors = Pastel, Ghost, Fire, Sable, Mojave, Albino, Axanthic, Caramel Albino
Pattern = Spider, Woma, Pinstripe, Calico, Clown, Genetic Stripe, Het Red Axanthic

Now of course you don't have to agree 100% with my categories, and as you can see, I didn't go into all of the possible morphs, but that is what I came up with. Did I miss some you guys can think of?
I was not trying to come up with all of the combination ones, ala Lesser or Butter, which in my opinion is both a pattern and a color morph, but more a color morph than a pattern... so I left it out.
Anyway, back to the story at hand. Which of those groups is more appealing to you?
I'm intrigued and would love some feedback.

I'm a both kinda person.
my favorite pattern is the leopard.. that thing is awesome!!! but color on patterns is where its at...i mean a pattern with out color well thats just like putting a bad ass picture frame on a blank canvas..i mean it looks good but it could be so much better, besides color on pattern just go together like french fries and ketchup.. imo..haha

Seriously though, it's tough to beat a really good pastel. That pretty girl I bought from you is the best $200 I ever spent on a snake. She's a total hit at parties--she gets almost as many compliments as the pieds.
I guess I'd fall under more of a "lack of color" category. My favorites are Leucistics and anything Axanthic. So I prefer colorless patterns, I guess!
I would have to lean more toward colors. Bright or odd colors are what I really like the most.
Hands down...colors. Patterns depend on colors to make them come alive.
Heather-keep up the good work! I read your blog all the time. I appreciate the knowledge you pass on. Loved the Retile Living room interview and the Reptile Radio interveiw from 4 or 5 years ago.
I prefer both as well. But if forced to chose I would chose pattern. Why? Color browns out over time (there are excepts obviously), pattern stays. But then again, a BEL or Super black pastel would trump anything with a pattern for me.
