I have no idea what the heck is going on.
I bred my Spider het TSK Axanthic ph Albino to my Albino, thinking there would be some Albinos in the clutch. He didn't prove out with the other Albino clutch, but it was much smaller, so there was a chance he could be a Het still.
NOW we have the clutch hatched, with two Albinos in it (one dead in the egg), three eggs went bad, and this thing.
Here it is again with its sibling.
Note that there were no Spiders, and that the Albino is not a known het for Axanthic.
I have no idea what is going on.
On top of everything, these guys have small heads. Not off by a ton, but they are stubby...
So I am stuck scratching my head, trying to figure out if its something that I did during the season, or if my Albino female is a het Axanthic, and if this is a random Snow from an Albino? Or if this is just a very light faded Albino...
Yeah, I need a sanity check.
Off to send some pictures to friends.
What do you guys think?
Have a great day, my friends!
It could just be a "faded" albino, not a snow? But I'd hold him back and breed him to an axanthic.
ReplyDelete(Possible congratulations on maybe finally making that snow accidentally? Boy, what weird odds you get, Heather.)
Jackie,
ReplyDeleteI e-mailed Colette and she said the same thing about the Faded Albino. I agree with you and her.
I just couldn't imagine that this was a Snow, even though it stands out like a sore thumb for being lighter.
As for the odds, yeah. I am not sure what the odds gods were thinking this year...
But if he's NOT a snow, think of the snows he'd make! Goodness.
