Still breeding

There are still locks going on, and still glowing and still developing and so forth. It's still early yet, so I am seeing the span of the gamut in terms of breeding.

The locks, of course...

Those that are again, just getting the hang of it, but getting pretty cocky... Look how angry he is that I'm bothering him!!!

(Please ignore the bad shed on that girl... They were locked up, so I couldn't remedy the situation)

And of course, the Glow. Looks like a completely different snake, doesn't it??

And various stages of gravid development.

This gal is in the earlier stages, but what I'd like to call the flat tire. She is flat and fat, but a pointed spine towards the end of her body. She has at least another couple of weeks before I anticipate anything, if not more

And of course, the last span of time before eggs... Look how miserable she looks.

Again with the flat tire, but much more pronounced from the sides. She is wiggling around to get comfortable, but with six eggs in her, I can't imagine how she can be!

Hopefully she will lay this week or next. But also hopefully before we leave for Washington DC.

We shall see.

So there you go. Still breeding, still waiting, still taking random pictures.

Have a fantastic day, my friends!

Locks and Fat Girls

Well, it is another week, and another not having eggs. But I do still have locks and ovulations and buildings, so hopefully in the next few weeks I can say I have eggs. And when that happens, life will be good (not that it isn't already, but the ants in my pants will be gone).

I am giving the boys a break today, but most of them are not interested in taking a break at all. I have some studs in my collection, and I have to say, I am pleased!

Especially the ones that take way too long to get into gear, but finally pull thru.

Ahem, Spotty...

But I can't be mad. I am getting eggs eventually, which is excellent.

These gals will be giving them to me soon enough.

They are nesting, and getting fat and testy. Gotta love the pissed off snakes.

This gal wasn't too happy either, as I was cleaning. But I did not get bit today, which is great as well. I have not been bitten in a while! I think I'm cursing myself to get bit soon, but oh well.

I am actually going to be speaking today at a local Los Angeles Chapter of the Southwestern Herpetologists Society meeting about Ball Pythons and Husbandry again, so tomorrow's blog should be a lot of fun!

If you are interested in attending, it will be at the East Valley Animal Services facility in Van Nuys at 7:30. The address is 14409 Vanowen St, Van Nuys, CA

This month I'm actually speaking twice, once tomorrow and another during the last weekend of the month for another Herpetological Society.

WOOHOOO!!!

Gotta love spreading the love about BPs to the masses. I'm excited, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures and stories to share.

Have a fantastic day, my friends.

Love is in the Air on this New Years!

Happy Valentines Day and Happy Chinese New Year!

It's the Year of the Tiger, and it will be a great one!

I got a lovely day with the Joel, and we plan to celebrate the Chinese New Year today, since Chinese New Years and Valentines Day fell on the same day.

And since I've had more time to check out more of the snake room (aka every hour with the camera impatiently...) I got more lock photos!

Here is the Pastel Lesser in with a Pastel female.

The Pastel het Pied with a Proven het Pied

Pee-Oh-Gee (Pastel Orange Ghost) with a Het Ghost

The Caramel with a Ghost (not quite there, but trying his hardest..)

Lemonblast to Spider

Sterling to Spider (he's a bit confused...)

And Pastel Yellowbelly to Normal

So, love is happening, but you notice my best friend Pastel Super Mojave is not involved? Yeah... He's still being prude.

Oh well.

Happy New Year, Have a great President's Day, and enjoy your loved ones, ALWAYS.
Valentines Day is great, but don't forget to appreciate the people you love all the time.

Have a great day, my friends!
