Car!

So I am almost in a car!

It took a while, but I found something that worked, and something I could live with until we can get a brand new one.

What is it?

HAH! That will be for you to find out later. Plus, since it is not in my hot little hands yet, I don't want to jinx it.

Anyway, yesterday was cleaning day. Everyone was fat and slithery.

I caught this on camera yesterday... I thought it was kinda funny.

Usually, I catch them with more off, so to speak.

He was in the throws of it.

He was also pretty upset with me for interrupting...

I thought it was cute. So by yesterday and cleaning, he was freshy shed and happy again. Hooray!!!

Yay for lifes little things.

Lets be thankful :)

FAIR-ly good weekend.

Joel and I went to the fair this weekend, after getting tired of looking at cars. Here are a couple of the reptiles I saw.

I was suprised to see any, to be quite honest, but they had a couple!

Sulcata

My friend Crikey the Croc (I named him...)

Some type of snake that was supposed to represent the praries.. Pretty!

Butta-flies!!

HUGE RABBIT!!! Can you imagine how many people that thing could feed?

Overall we had a lot of fun.. Last day of the fair, lots of people, and we had a good time hanging out just the two of us.

Had wayyyy too much to eat. Those turkey legs are dangerous!!! And although I was thinking about it (not seriously), Deep Friend Pop Tarts are not something I indulged in.

And to round about the whole "snake" blog, here are the eggs that were laid on the 25th.

Lets all pray to the snake gods that they are Enchis!!! (I need a couple more...)

The season is coming to a close

So the last female to lay dropped last night.

One slug, and four nice eggs. Mystery male, but I'm hoping Enchi.

Two more months, and we are DONE!

I'm tired.

The snakes seem to sense that, and spill more water bowls or take nice bathroom breaks.

I have recently come to the conclusion that no matter what, there will be something. Be it car, people, or just things...

Recently I have had a streak of bad luck (on top of everything else), and lost an animal that I thought had no problems. Do I blame myself? Chalk it up to bad luck? Chalk it up to living creatures just destined to die?

I just feel rather depressed, as the confidence in me is draining...

It's very difficult to deal with a loss, as well as have other people not trust you anymore.

I'm sorry...

AAARGHH!!

I hate problem feeders. They are frustrating and annoying.

I have a pastel female who has been on a hunger strike ever since she laid me seven beautiful eggs. They have subsequentially hatched, and Momma has yet to eat (That's two months, people!!).

I've tried everything! Rats, Mice, live, pre-killed.. She is just NOT interested.

RAWR!!!

Time to give her a change of scenery.. She will be living in a smaller tub to give her a sense of security. That usually does the trick. Lets cross our fingers!

The good news is that the Mojaves are coming out. I know I have at least one girl Mojave, and two normals (which I didn't sex). The rest are still chilling in the egg.

Feeding day went well, and in the next couple of days when I am actually going to be able to focus on the snakes more than everything else in the world right now, I will take some better pics of some good stuff, and have another photo/info session.

I love Mojos...

So the last clutch in the incubator is pipping. It's looking like five Mojaves out of eight eggs.

Now if they could only be all female, and we would be golden.

Hopefully they pop out soon, so that I can be not on pins and needles.

Problem is, as close as it is to breeding season, with not so many months left for recovery, and another female due to drop eggs very soon, I am rushing and scrambling to try and figure out what the heck I plan to do with these animals this season.

The time crunch is here.

I did do some work on the available page, however. There are some pics of the babies available for sale! Check them out.

I know that I am shooting for TSK Snows this year...

My Axanthic 100% het Albino male was born and reared for this moment!

As for everything else, I'm not sure...

Man.

This is tough.

Space!!!

I shipped out a large group of animals yesterday, and I have to say I am pleased to have the space.

Now the hatchlings can have more space to roam!!

Now to only make more...

Space...

Yeah!

Hmmmmmmmmm.........

I didn't take any pictures last night, just had the regular cleaning and junk.

To be honest, with everything I am trying to accomplish these next couple of days, snake updates may be rather on the boring side.

I will see if I can fit a photo session in so that it breaks up the monotony.

Any suggestions?? (I will still do the shipping photos, I just didn't do it yesterday)

I feel like I may run out of ideas... As I only have so many snakes before the photos get repetitive.

Cleaning was actually relaxing last night, as I have been having little barbs of stress coming in and out of the daily routine with still dealing with the car and stuff.

Snake babies are great for my sanity.

Now buying a car is not.

BLARG.

I want my Ruby back.. (Ruby was the name of my Corolla)

Pewter? Isn't that a Metal?

YEAH!

It's a Pewter!!!

This is my male. He is a bit darker than some, but he is still a great looking guy!

Cinnamon x Pastel made this bugger, and I couldn't be happier to have him in the breeding game. He's going to do WONDERS this upcoming breeding season. I'm STOKED.

He doesn't have a name, so we call him Pewter. Original? YEAH. Seems to be a streak in me right now... All my animals are named after what they are. Maybe we should call him "Snake"....

As for updates this weekend, no car yet, nothing all that exciting happening. Enjoy pictures!!

And now, we live!!

The Joel passed his PA test, and now things are looking up!

Granted there are very few snake related things happening over here (cleaning, feeding, the regular stuff), I wanted to take the time out of the "snake blog" and congratulate him on his wonderful achievement!!!

As for snakes, I have a large group of animals being shipped out on Monday (YAY!!!) and I am going to try and remember to take pics of the boxes and how we set them up. I think that should be an interesting photo session, and maybe let people in on how snakes are shipped across the country.

Things are still shedding and growing, babies are eating, and things are going as scheduled.

I only have one more female that is supposed to drop eggs in the next month, and then, after that is hatched, we are on our way to the next season!!!

I can't believe it's already time to think about it.

Wow...

Breedings will probably begin in December or so. I'm not sure when I will start for sure, but I know I'm not prepared yet!!

Who should be paired with who?

What combos do I want to make???

It's a matter of life or death here!!

ARE YOU READY!?!?!!?!?!

Happy weekend, my friends. Maybe on Monday I will have a car :)

I got my Mojo, Babayyy!

Well, here they are.

Mojos that hatched.

Love this morph. They are just beautiful!! Blues, yellows, greens, whites..

And they make a White and Grey snake with Blue EYES!

Can't go wrong with that.

When they shed out and look even nicer, more pics will come.

As for pics, I decided to take a photo group of the only Enchi I hatched out this year so far.

She is a hottie for sure! Not sure what to do with her, but I'm pleased to have her!

Here she is next to a Lemon Pastel to make things clearer that she is NOT a pastel.

Off topic: CONGRATULATIONS TO THE JOEL FOR PASSING HIS PA EXAM!!! YEAH!!!!

Good luck, Beebs!!!

Today is just another ordinary day for me.

Less stressed out now. In the process of getting a car found and purchased. Things are getting settled again.

Snakes are being snakey.

Feeding day should be soon, but I haven't decided when.

Hatchings are on hold again until next week, I believe.

So, little to add other than trying to get things in order.

Pastel picture to break up the lack of news...

Sooner rather than later, I will take more pics and make things look more exciting!

Hatchings are almost over. The last clutch is in the incubator, and there is one more due to lay, and then I'm done!

(What am I going to ramble about after everything is hatched???)

Good luck, honey, on your test. I know you will do fine...

New site setup

Do you LOVE IT?

Its really great to be able to change things up a bit and have it look a bit fresher.

I hope you all like it, and if you have any comments, please feel free to share with me!

It's been a labor of love and of stress and of nitpicking, but it is here!

YEAH!

Here is Mr. Pretzel. That's not really his name, but he is kinda looking like it right now. I like the picture, and wanted to share. He is filling out very nicely as well. I'm very happy with him and am very excited to see his offspring next season.

YEAH G-STRIPES!!!

Mojaves have hatched and are in post-hatch shed mode, pics to come tommorow.

Pastels are shed out and looking SWEET.

I need to take more pics.

More tommorow for sure!

OH!! And Happy Moon Festival to all you Chinese folks out there (It was on Sunday.. I celebrated, but forgot to mention on the blog)

One more day....

I wish the weekend had one more day in it.

I relaxed the whole weekend, cleaned a bit, did a bit of stuff, slept ALOT.

Still felt like I didn't do enough.

But here we are...

Monday.

Hooray.

This week should be interesting.

No car yet, but we are working on it.

We had some Mojaves pip out, and the Pastels poss het Clown are shedding. (No pics yet)

Spotty has shed, and I have to say is looking Uber Sexy.

Through a breeding loan, I was able to get a pair of awesome Pastel Yellowbellies, and I wanted to highlight them for today.

I really really like them! The possibilities for them are endless!!!

Friday, September 12, 2008

Well, it's official

I'm the first one (to my knowledge) to create this combo. (If it is what I think it is)

I'm pretty much sure (although I will need time to prove her out) that I created a Het Red Axanthic Black Pastel. And now I have my own line of Het Red Axanthics (I think)!! (THE WONG LINE)

Ralph Davis did this combo too, and he made three of the same looking animals from a Het Red Axanthic female to a Super Cinny male.

Considering I am waaaay behind on having the most up to date collection, I am STOKED beyond belief that I made the FIRST of something.

I never thought it would happen!

ENJOY!

BOO!!! and some poss hets

I finally did it.

I got a Hypo. FINALLY.

I've had hets for years, but only got females, and haven't bred them. This should be a new thing for me hatching them out next year, but I finally got a visual Hypo (they also call them Ghosts).

Of course, names that crossed my name have been Boo, Casper, Frosty, and a few others. I haven't decided on it, to be honest. Maybe I'll come up with something soon.

She was a trade deal, and I couldn't be happier! She ate for me last night too, so I'm very pleased!! (Thank you, Tim!)

As for what I have come up with in the past few days, here are preshed Pastels and normals poss het Clown. 2.2 Pastels poss het Clown, so I'm not too upset about it.

Here are the girls that are sticking with me. They will look much nicer after the first shed, but I couldn't resist taking some pics now.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

It has arrived...

Well, I promised updates on the recent clutches.

The Spiders are all out, and here is a picture of them. Four girls.

And over the weekend, the Bumblebee clutch pipped. Here is the head.

And again... It looks neon!

And here HE is out of the egg. I'm surprised at how many spots he has, but he should grow up to be a sweet looking Bumblebee. I've named him Spotty McGillicutty.

He had three spider and one pastel siblings, along with two normals.

Also, the pastel poss het clown clutch is out. No photos yet, and I forgot the sex odds, so that will be updated for tommorow.

Hope all is well with you all out there in internet land.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

And we are back in business...

Sorry for the hiatus..

Things were obviously a bit stressful around here.

The car is totalled, but we are alright, so thank god for that.

LOTS OF UPDATES!!!

Anahiem was a blast.. Had SO much fun hanging out with my friends and making new ones. It was really awesome.

To those I met this weekend, I am honored that you would take the time out to introduce yourself. It is always great to put a face to the names!

To those that hung out, we gotta do it again!!! I always look forward to local shows just to see you guys.

On to the photos:

The banner

The table with "And Kyle" (I shared the table with a friend)

Someone took this while I was talking to a customer

TSK's awesome season:

Champagne... Sweeeeeet

Blue Eyed Leucistic

Pastel Pied.. Too cool

Pastel Clown (I'm working on this.. Pastel poss hets in the incubator pipping!!)

There are plenty more pics, but that is enough for now...

I got a couple of new things, but I will most likely spread it out thru out the rest of the week. I LOVE TRADES.

Thursday, September 4, 2008

You've got to be kidding me....

So yeah. They are all Spiders.

4 Spiders out of 7 eggs. Not too shabby.

Let us take a step back and recall the devestating sex odds of the pastels that hatched out recently. 7 males, 1 female.

SEVEN males..

Yes.

That poor girl amidst all her brothers.

Now let us fast forward to today. Four Spiders.. not exactly what I like to see in the perfect spider as they have some spots, but they are nice.

Sex odds???

1.6

1 male, 6 females.

ALL of the spiders seem to be female.

Granted this is a preliminary popping, and I did it on my way out the door, but seriously.... The Ball Python Gods are laughing at me. They are messing with my head.

I will now be overrun with Bumblebee groups, which is fine by me!!!

This is good news!! I am pleased with the outcome, albeit a bit jaded. I may have sexed them wrong, so I'm not getting my hopes up too high.

Lets just see what happens with the Bumblebees that hatch next week...

COUNTDOWN TO ANAHIEM: Two more days... Here we go!

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

I lied

Well, everyone is pipping in the next clutch.

They are Spiders.

Not Enchis.

How the heck I missed that, I have no idea. (I cut, and peeped in.. got my hopes up)

Anyway, babies should be out very soon, with more photos for everyone.

I kinda hope I did get an Enchi in there, so I don't look like a complete ass, but we shall see.

Anyway, cleaning day was yesterday, everyone is clean and happy.

I am really looking forward to Fall, so at least things won't be as hot. I'm ready for reprieve.

Gearing up for the show in three days, people. Am I ready? Not quite, but I'm almost there. YEAH.

There will be lots of stories after this week is over, my friends.

Red hot

Yesterday, after the Pastel incident, I decided to get out and play.

The Joel and I went out to play Softball with a group of friends. I got to slide around and hit the ball and have fun.

But I got burned.

I feel it.

Ouch.

Other than Racoon eyes and some red shoulders, I am in good spirits.

I do not regret getting those pastels at all. They are actually pretty kick ass now that they've had time to color up. After the first shed, I'll be looking forward to seeing the colors.

But, today is a good day for another reason.

Now that I have pastels out on the ground, I can say with almost certainty that the "Pastel" I hatched out a couple of weeks ago is an Enchi.

Here is Dad.

Baby

Baby again

Why do I say this now?

Cause compared to the baby and the pastels that hatched out, there are some stark differences. AND today, I believe there to be more Enchis hatching out, so that I can make a for sure diagnosis as to the morph itself.

So today is Pre-Enchi day. Enchi day will be when these kids come out of the egg and show me what is going on.

YAY!!!
