Fuzz World Cup and cool shed

Well, its back to waiting for more clutches, but there have been a few cool things happening around here.

I found the Cinny female I bred late having her post ovulation shed.

I caught her like this.

Half naked, flipped around, and oh so cool looking.

You can see her belly scales on her spine!

I had to take pics.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the best angle (the tub is rather high, and I am rather short), but I got this shot to show the contrast.

I thought that was the coolest thing...

So there you go, another random snake shot of shed from Heather to you. Hope you liked it!

And now on to the Fuzz World Cup, 2010.

Kona is all fine and better now, and Joel decided to set up a semblance of the Fifa World Cup at the house, thusly dubbed Fuzz, as it involved the Fuzz kids.

Here they are, getting ready for the show.

Regal is getting a little excited now, the ball is coming out!

And they are OFF!

Fuzz Soccer Ball with Squeeky for the Fuzz World Cup.

Kona does a drop kick on Regal, Regal goes for the jugular.  What a rough match!

But in the end, the baby gets the toy..

And Regal gets the petting and love, while Kona attempts to destroy the ball. Again.

And so ends the Fuzz World Cup round one...

Will there be a rematch? Maybe...

But until then, have a fantastic day, my friends!

What is a clear shed?

What is a Clear Shed?

I keep seeing in the forums, references to clear sheds when people are asking about morphs.

"It is more than likely a morph if it sheds clear"
or

"It's a Hypo (Ghost) if it sheds clear"

or

"Something something Clear Shed!"
for those that are trying to sound knowledgeable and really have no idea what they are talking about.

Well, let me put it to you straight, my compadres.

Below you see two sheds. One is more dark, and one is white.

The dark one is from the poss het Pied from yesterday. She is a "normal".

The other is from an Albino. She is a morph.

Now, let us distinguish and complete the picture for you between the two.

Yes, some morphs shed clear.
Clear in this definition as to mean that there is a lack of color in the shed itself.

What other morphs shed clear?

Hypos, Albinos, combinations of said morphs and a few others, but most of the morphs that do have very light to no pattern.

NOT ALL MORPHS SHED CLEAR.

BUT SOME DO.

Again, one of those points that is pretty interesting, but puts a cog in the intellectual expansion of some people in terms of what defines a morph. People get stuck on this point, and don't get over it, and only believe that all morphs shed clear.

NOT THE CASE.

So I hope that has educated some in terms of this issue, and also to show you the difference between a clear shed and one that is not with visual imagery.

I try to incorporate that as much as I can. I'm a visual learner for the most part, so this would help me if I were a noob.

So hopefully it did for some of you.

Have a fantastic clear day, my friends. Or maybe a dark day. Whatever floats your boat.

Stuff I caught recently

I've been watching and waiting for something to happen in the snake room, without actually doing much of what I have been planning to do.

So I caught a few interesting things and I am gunna share them with you.

Above is a glowing, building Spider female. She was bred to my Lemonblast male. I love Spinners, and I love Spinner Blasts, so I am really excited to see what comes out of this pairing.  She is an awesome Spider too, so I am really curious what kind of Spinners she produces.

And then I caught this Het Pied female shedding, and I thought it was really cute. She was pissed as all get out,  but I managed to get a few photos of her hood.

Yeah, did I mention she was pissed? Look at that aggressive posturing. Less than an hour later, she was fully shed and clean.

Gotta love it!

And this beauty is the next female in line to lay for me, more than likely in the next week or so. This is my TSK Axanthic female possible het Albino. I'm hoping she proves for me, cause the Albino het TSK Axanthic is not going this year.

I NEED MY SNOW!!

It will be six eggs from this gal, and I can't wait to see what she makes. COME ON, BABAY!!!

The worst I can get out of this clutch is a crap ton of Axanthics.

I'll take it.

So with that, I bid you adieu.

Have a fantastic day, my friends.

Everyone is in Shed

I was taking photos a few days ago, and it seemed like everyone smaller was in shed.  The trio above was not all in shed, but one of the females was. This is my trio of double het Albino Pieds. I am taking the longer route in terms of creating and using my own double hets, but I have to say I think it will absolutely be worth the wait in the long run.

I love Albino Pieds, so it will be a great joy to hatch them out from my own visuals.

The female in the top left was in shed, and the others were not. But the more I looked at, the more I found critters that were in shed.

It is very difficult sometimes to identify morphs when they are in shed. The bumblebee was in shed and blue, and the Pastels (yes, those two above the Bumblebee are Pastels) are in deep shed. The pastels are usually very nice looking, although the top left pastel is less yellow than the one on the top right.

So with shed, the color change can be drastic. Here is the Pastel on the top right after her shed.

And the Bumblebee after shed. Now, the last pastel was not out of shed at the time of writing the blog, but she will look a lot better.

Renewed and refreshed is usually how I like to put it. Deeper colors, more rich in tone, and vibrant.

Anyway, I'm looking for more important sheds, such as post and pre-ovulation sheds. Maybe I will catch one sooner rather than later.

Have a fantastic day, my friends.
