Mid of the day (kinda) update, cause I can...

Well, its still Tuesday, and I still have a few more hours to go, BUT!!!

I went home after my orthodontic appt to get my retainers (YUCK) and I spotted THIS!

Managed to take a few pics before I had to go back to work.

This is Nadra, one of my fiestier animals.. She is also a first time breeder for me. I can't wait to see what she gives me this season, and how many!!!

She was bred to a Black Pastel.

WOOOT!

Clutch #4 on the ground

This is TV.

TV?

You named your snake after a piece of electrical equipment?

Why yes, and let me explain to you why..

Once upon a time, I was looking for a used television for my room, as my previous one, which was older than me, decided to POOF and die on me. So, I started checking craigslist for a nice simple used TV to buy locally.

Found one not too far away, in Long Beach, so I drove out there. Why did I pick this guy? Cause his ad had offered a TV AND A SNAKE COMBO DEAL!! How could I resist?

So I went and got the TV, and got the snake. This was several years ago, and I am really very happy with both! And since it was so outlandish to have picked up a Ball Python while buying a TV, I named her TV in that honor, so that I wouldn't forget.

And now, this is her second year breeding for me, and I am very happy with her!!

If you noticed in the past two shots, her butt is bulging. Yes, yes it is. I took those photos Sunday night, assuming that she would explode within a few hours of my photo.. Ohhh no. I waited for 4 hours before I gave up and went to bed.

In the morning, she was still fatty fatty fat butt, so I went to work.

I knew she would lay when I was gone during the day, and... SHE DID!

Here she is on her eggs when I got home last night. One roll out.. Booo! But all are fertile, so all are in the incubator. COME ON, ENCHI'S!!!

TEN amazing eggs from a TV to an Enchi. How can it get any better than that?? Biggest clutch so far this season..

But we have plenty more to go!

So to update the masses:

Axanthic het Albino to Albino PH Axanthic: 4 Eggs, April 24th lay, 36 days til hatch.
Black Pastel to Normal: 4 Eggs, May 10th lay, 51 days til hatch.
Pied to Poss Het: 7 Eggs, May 15th lay, 56 days til hatch.
Enchi to Normal (TV): 10 Eggs, May 18th lay, 59 days til hatch.

BRING IT ON!!!

Things are getting more exciting, my friends. Lets have a BLAST this season!!

Sitha and Troy's Big Day!!

Warning to all:

There is little snake conversation in this weekend overview blog.

But, there is lots of food, and merriment, and lots of awesome pictures to share.

Joel works with several other PA's in his clinic, and his co-worker, Sitha (who is Cambodian) got married on Saturday.

I have to admit, I know very little about Cambodian culture, so I was very excited to learn we were going to be attending a Cambodian wedding.

So, on Friday, we went to her Hair Cutting Ceremony, which is mostly a good luck, good blessings ceremony with lots of pretty dresses, singing and dancing. I didn't have my camera at the time, but it was beautiful..

Anyway, so on to the wedding. We arrived at 6, as the invitation said. We then sat and waited for two hours while Sitha and Troy greeted all the guests at the door.

They gave us all beautiful orchids, and bowed to us at the door. It was like a procession when you leave church, where the pastor is waiting outside? It was like that, but inside, and with the whole bridal party.

Here is my orchid, with the on the table gift to take home. I think it was potpurri.

And a live band singing Cambodian tunes! (Singer was not photographed...)

And here are Sitha and Troy again, Sitha in a new outfit (I LOVE the dresses...)

And here Joel and I are.. YAY NO BRACES!!!

Now on to the food...

I have to say, I have never had Remy before. I poured a HUGE amount into my glass, assuming it was a lighter liquor. Boy, was I wrong.. Live and learn.

Now let me explain to you why there are so many photos of food. Joel took a lot of them, because it was very interesting, and different, and very pretty!

This was the appetizer platter. Jellyfish, thousand year old eggs, pork in several varieties, shrimp, and squid. Mmmmmmmm.

An amazing soup, kinda like Tom Yum (Thai soup).. It was GONE very quickly..

HUGE prawns and shrimp chips... I loved the chips when I was a kid. What am I saying.. I love them still!

Beef with a really nice eggplant salad on the side. I really enjoyed it!

And the sweet and sour fish. Very tasty for sure.

And the cake! I actually didn't get to taste it, but with all the other food, it was not a huge loss.
And the happy couple again!!

So after all the fun and joy and food coma, Sunday was a very nice kickback day. I cleaned all of the waterbowls in the snake room, which took several hours in the hot sun. I got tanned doing it too! I wasn't expecting that...

But I was also hoping for eggs this weekend, to no avail. I have some chunkers that should be ready, but nothing on the ground yet. Hopefully very soon!

Tommorow will be more snakey for sure, I promise. Have a great Monday, my friends!!

Go Poss Hets, Go!

Well, this past week has been a whirlwind.. Thank goodness it is almost over.

Granted this weekend is going to be pretty packed (can we say 2nd wedding of the year?) and I haven't had enough time in the snake room for my tastes.. but its alright. As long as I get to sleep in...

So last night, I get home late from work. I've been working long hours to finish some projects at work, and got home 2 hours late for the second night in a row. Much to my suprise, Joel had a present for me. I love them!!

I heart Roses, but what woman doesn't?

I get some work done around the house, and get a fitful nights sleep.

I wake up, groggy and tired.. Did I even sleep? Yeah, I guess I did...

CRAP, I'm late!

Run to get myself together, and remind myself to take the time to check for eggs.

And of course, like always, things happen when I'm not prepared.

Here is Lisha, my poss het Pied female who didn't prove out last year. She is getting another shot at it this year.

Of course she was angry and not ready to give up the eggs, while I'm here trying to photograph, and hurry up and get...

I moved her a bit, but she wasn't having it. "NO! MINE!"

Finally, success.. I had to make a whole new tub for these, as I forgot to leave an empty one in the incubator.

7 healthy beautiful eggs. Lets hope there is a Pied in here this time. Go Poss Hets, Go!! You can prove out, yes you can!

So with that, I rushed to the comp, uploaded the pics, and ran to work.

And here I am with my coffee in hand, getting ready to get the day done so that I can enjoy my weekend.

And for the final time of the week of Heather's Photographs of Tim's stuff... here is his Pewter.

Have a fabulous weekend, my friends. I know you deserve it.

Spotlight on, Mister Camera Man.

I know, I know..

These girls look washed out, way too bright.

EXACTLY!

Glowing is abounding here still, and these gals all look like sisters in glow. No, they are not related, no they are not the same animal, and no, I didn't fix the photo to change the colors (I have no idea how to).

Isn't it great?

Hopefully you guys can tell more now what people mean by the Glow before they Go. I don't have any comparison pics to upload at the moment, but I may find some tonight to post for tommorow. It is a STARK contrast.

After the excitement of Glows and clean teeth are winding down, I checked on the eggs this morning to make sure I wasn't forgetting something or ignoring a problem.

Nope! They are looking fine.

Countdown to hatch:

Snow Clutch: April 25th lay, 41 days til hatch.
Black Pastels: May 10th lay, 56 days til hatch.

The incubator is a tad bit empty still, and the second one isn't even fired up, but it should begin full swing in June.

Can't wait!!

Anyway, here are a few more of Tim's pics.

I love his Caramel. Hopefully I can add those to the collection soon enough..And his Cinny Female isn't too shabby either :)

Have a fabulous Thursday my friends. The week is almost coming to a close.

Coming down from the High

Well, just got back from the dentist...

Interesting how when you get braces they tell you to keep them clean, but how in gods name are you able to traverse thru the bunches of metal glued on to get to your gums and such?

I get to visit the dentist a few more times now, and after that, I hope that there will be smooth sailing ahead.

Here is the photo of my apple of the day yesterday. WOOOHOO!!

It was fantastic.
On to snake stories and photos:

This little gal is one of my favorite new recomers back to the fold.

I don't have many of them, but when I do, I like to remember why it was so hard to move them on to a new home in the first place.

This is the only Black Pastel female I hatched out last year. She went out on a trade, and subsequently came back on trade. Wierd, huh? I was glad to get her back, as ringers are one of my favorite dinker things to play with, and my Black Pastel line throws them more often than any of my other morph lines.

She has the coolest ringer tail!! Yay for being back!

And considering the Greg Graziani hit on the Cinnamon Clown, I think it would be fun to try for the Black Pastel Clown! Congrats, Greg!

And some photos I took at Tim's. These animals are his, not mine... but the photography is mine, not his. LOL!

Pastel next to Bumblebee...

And two Pieds. I love the variances in colors in the pieds, even while just being Pied!

Anyway, the blog should be up on time for the rest of the week. I'm sorry for lagging on it.

Have a great day, my friends!

IT IS DONE!!!

Well, you may be asking yourselves, loyal readers, why in gods name did todays blog come so LATE???

Well, if you didn't know, I had braces.

Braces... The stuff of middle school parodies, teen angst, and Ugly Betty hilarity.

BUT TODAY!!!

THEY ARE OFF!!!

I haven't seen my face without metal for the past 16 months!

I will have to take a photo of the glory that is my new teeth, but I am at a loss for now to do it.

I am enjoying my lips actually touching my teeth for now, and that is really the glory of the day.

Today, I shall consume a caramel apple with nuts.. Gooey, crunchy, gloriousness that is so amazingly unavailable to you while you have your orthodontic brackets glued to your teeth.

It was a sad sad summer at the fair without it.

BUT NOW!!!!

NOW IS THE REST OF MY TEETHLY YEARS!!!

HOORAY!!!

By the way, nothing really going on on the snake front. I'm just too stoked for my braces being off, can you tell?

But to go with the trend that is this blog, I shall have a photo for you all..

Pearly white like my chompers... HAH!!

Have a great day, my friends. I know I will!! Enjoy a Candy Apple on me!
